We work with the project brief as a framework for concept generation. However as the development of the concept progresses, the project brief may expand and become more detailed. Definitions will be developed further.

The concept generation phase has full freedom to investigate ideas and concepts through brain storming and sketching. A small  number of these conceptual sketches are presented to you to provoke thought and discussion and review whether we are going in the right direction.

We will often work with 3d CAD virtual models even at this early stage so that mechanical constraints or predefined components can be modelled into the concept model. With this initial data 3d CAD data we are also able to machine blue foam models for handling tests. The concepts may be rejected or developed further to produce an agreed concept to take through to design engineering.
